Lock and Load - Before each mission, buy up your shields and missiles as much as you can - you'll need all the offense and defense you can get.

More Running, Less Gunning - This is not a game of brute force blasting. If you try to stand toe-to-toe with the alien baddies you'll end up as space vapor. Run around them and shoot them on your way to completing the other mission objectives.
